I am based in Dubai and there is a growing view but some food cognoscenti that one of the one stars here are overdue for a downgrading. How does this compare vs Edinburgh? Are they firm or flimsy one stars?
On the whole, I think pretty firm. I wouldn't necessarily say that's the case with bibs though - I was surprised to see who did (and did not make the list). Despite their being a lot of tourist-orientated fine-dining spots here, there are also plenty of excellent, well priced venues that I think got snubbed!

That’s a shame but those place should be celebrated. We have a lot of that here too for certain awards. Unsung heroes, as such.
